Beautifully mysterious imagery for The Washington Ballet by Design Army. Those costumes and the styling are just fantastic.  I’m pretty upset that I missed this ballet.

My good friend and fellow art director Christian Williams will be running the Boston Marathon on April 16 for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC). I’ve known Christian for about 6+ years and therefore I know this is a HUGE challenge for him, (he practically hates running.) BUT I also know that he is very determined, which means he will succeed even if he’s crawling across the finish line. Using his art director skills he created a great little campaign/site for his journey. And he’s challenging all of us to donate at least five dollars. “Five dollars. It’s not a lot to part with. We spend almost that much a day on coffee. Five dollars may not seem like a lot. But, if enough people contribute…five dollars will add up quickly. In addition to knowing that you’ve contributed to one of the nations leading cancer institutes I’ll also go ahead and send you one of the buttons shown below. Please do you part and spread the word. Together We Can.”

What an impressive rebrand! The original logo is very outdated and the rebrand, designed by the Buenos Aires office of Futurebrand, has transformed Peru’s logo into a modern and unique icon—full of character. I love the application of the new identity on these postcards along with the use of the Bree font family which was specially created for Peru by TypeTogether.  This new look is sure to make Peru even more appealing!

A new video by dutch artist Rogier Wieland illustrates the new Moleskine Extra Small Planners, Weekly and Daily. I love when the craft world influences advertising. Below is the making of…whew! It’s even more impressive after seeing that.

Based on what I’ve caught of glimpse of thus far, there is a good chance this will be better than any of the commercials debuting on the SuperBowl.

I love this campaign for Sherwin Williams by Durham, NC agency McKinney. The four print ads feature original color-chip sculptures created by Matthew Sporzynski—my favorite being the ice cream sundae. The tv spots were directed and produced by Buck NY. They use 3D animation to create a beautiful and dynamic color chip world, really showing off Sherwin Williams’ extensive color choices. Both print and tv solidly support the headline “Make the most of your color with the very best paint.”
