I tweeted about this yesterday but its too cute not to post here too. 400 Costumes to Die For is GS Design‘s 2009 annual self-promotional piece. Just roll the two 20-sided dice to reveal more than 400 morbidly clever costume ideas – from Zombie Elvis and Space Jesus to the truly outré. The dice are packaged in an illustrated tube with rings that rotate to let the recipient create mix-and-match Halloween creatures. The tube is an economical one-color hot stamp on black paper with printed one-color instructions affixed inside the lid. While researching this design I discovered that they created an iphone and ipad app too! Download it for free here. Now you don’t have any excuses not to dress up this year.

Public Gothic and How to Sell a Font

I’m not a freak about typography like many designers but I do get excited about great packaging. This morning while on Lovely Package I found myself duped by Antrepo. At first glance I thought I was admiring some gorgeous retro inspired oil cans. But, after closer inspection I discovered that I was in fact looking at a gorgeous sales pitch for their font Public Gothic. Maybe there is something to this typography thing after all.

Gorgeous Packaging for Society 27

I suppose the sneakers from Society 27 should be the story here, but for me it’s all about this gorgeous packaging, since the shoes is something normally see in places like ShoeAdviser site online. I’m a sucker for wood. What can I say. No doubt this isn’t the cheapest nor the most environmentally form of packaging I’ve ever seen produced. But, man….it sure is beautiful to look at.

happ & stahns perfume packaging

I stumbled upon this perfume at the Anthropologie accessories store just the other day. It’s the cutest box and bottle…every single detail is just perfect. I especially love the pincushion top on the bottle. I was sooo close to buying it just for the packaging—I don’t even think I smelled it—but thankfully I came to my senses. Purchase it for yourself at Anthropologie here and here. It’d make a great gift for a perfume lover.
