waterskiing

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

I’m going to be on a houseboat with my family for the next few days. Knee-boarding, jetskiing, water-skiing and relaxing—all my favorite things! And completely away from stress and technology. See you next week!

chuck close

Over the weekend I attended the Chuck Close Prints: Process and Collaboration exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. I left the exhibit completely WOWed! His extensive experimentation and mastery of printmaking is crazy genius. The exhibit shows his process which makes the prints even more mind-blowing. I was most impressed with a self portrait that was screenprinted with over 200 colors and his fingerprint portraits. This is a must-see if you live in the DC area!

More about the exhibit here.

what the french toast?

I know this is an older commercial, but it’s by far one of my favorites ever. I’m trying to introduce these phrases into my every day language. Their new commercial ain’t too shabby either.

the sarah project: miss piggy

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

This week’s The Sarah Project features Rose a prize pig who is quite the poser & kisser. Her beauty won all the judge’s hearts. She was generous enough to allow me to borrow the crown and sash for a few shots.

bicycle posters

Adorable 4C screenprinted bicycle poster by Barrel. The second addition of this print is available for pre-order in their shop.

A screenprinted poster designed by Allan Peters for Artcrank 2010 in Minneapolis. (aka a poster party for bike people.) Check out Allan’s entire portfolio—it’s all fantastic design work; really, really top notch. I especially love this birth announcement.

A beautiful series by Dutch designer Louis Reith. Check out his entire portfolio here. I wouldn’t mind having the framed piece (shown below) for my house.

the sarah project: cleopatra

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

The Sarah Project brings you Miss Cleo this week! She is adorned with a 24K paper clip/ribbon necklace and paper cobra headdress. She spends her time striking poses, eating brains and fanning herself with gold leaves…walk like an egyptian.

the sarah project: blondie

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

I went blonde on Friday. And to be completely honest, it’s the most drastic thing I’ve ever done to my hair, (and I’ve done tons of drastic things.) I’m slowly getting used…but it’s still a little weird seeing my reflection. I guess I’ll soon find out if blondes really do have more fun.

What do you guys think?
