studio internship

Thursday, February 6th, 2014

We are currently hiring a studio intern!

Starting immediately I will need someone to come in to the studio 2–3 days a week, for at least 5 hours a day. Hours and time are flexible.

We are looking for a fellow paper lover to help out with packaging and folding inventory, packing and shipping orders, trimming paper and other production work. Inventory and other admin tasks could be involved.

Candidate must be: hard-working, a self-starter, very reliable, clean, meticulous attention to detail, very organized and have the ability to work on repetitive tasks. Bonus point for having a creative background. Letterpress or silkscreen printing experience is not required, but beneficial.

This is a part-time paid position in Chevy Chase, MD (within walking distance from the Bethesda metro). If interested I would be willing to train you on the press. This is a great opportunity for someone willing to work hard and grow with the company.

Please email me with a resume and a short paragraph on why you’d be a great fit for Fancy Seeing You Here to: hi {at} fancyseeingyouhere {dot} com

Look forward to hearing from you!

NSS 2012 booth setup

Friday, May 25th, 2012

I’ve been preparing for the National Stationery Show since last fall and it finally happened earlier this week. All of the hard work and meltdowns were paid off by the most wonderfully awesome week, surrounded by stationery and paper lovers, yes it was heaven. I was lucky enough to share a booth with ten other members of the Ladies of Letterpress community. Having a small section in their booth, in comparison to having an entire booth to myself, made the preparation a lot easier. And when I say easier, I don’t mean easy, you still have to work your freakin butt off. But it was SO worth it; new friends, new shops and great press all of which are priceless. Here are a few shots from the booth setup.

Oh and did you see that some of my cards were featured on Design Sponge? I’m still jumping with joy over that.

And a lovely post from Oh So Beautiful Paper, which features pictures from all the Ladies of Letterpress booths.

Pearl’s first run

Monday, April 16th, 2012

Things have been a bit quiet here on fancy seeing you here lately. The reason for this is prepping for the National Stationery Show which has me in such a tizzy. It seems like everything is coming together nicely though, even if my to do list is endless! This past weekend I printed with my press Pearl for the first time. It took a bit of troubleshooting to figure everything out, but by the end she was printing beautifully. I’m so excited to finally have her up and running. A special thanks goes out to Baltimore Print Studios and John Falstrom for the technical support while I was setting her up.

In case you are attending NSS I’ll be in booth #2274 with the Ladies of Letterpress.

scenes from artscape

Monday, July 18th, 2011

A few images from our booth at Artscape this past weekend. It was a very busy, hot and exhausting three days, but well worth it—I loved seeing how people responded to our products. I think our Letterpress booth was a big hit, the combination of all our different design styles and products was unique and we truly had something for everyone.

Artscape: How dance artists operate

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

Dancing оn thе stage іn frоnt оf numerous spectators іѕ оftеn pretty difficult fоr thе amateur erotic dancers; thе greedy eyes аnd explicit behavior оf thе spectators саn bе difficult tо tolerate. But, sad tо say, thіѕ іѕ thе life оf аn exotic dancer. Thіѕ іѕ thеіr оnlу source оf income. Thеу hаvе tо perform seductive dance performance tо entertain thе spectators аnd strip оff thеіr entire clothing. In return, thе spectators stuff dollars іn thе G-string оf thе exotic dancer. Thіѕ іѕ thе mode оf income оf a strip dancer. Vеrу fеw strip clubs pay thе strip dancers оn a daily оr monthly basis. Hоwеvеr, thе increasing number оf strip dance clubs hаѕ created huge opportunity оf jobs аѕ strip dancers fоr women. Hundreds оf strip dance clubs hаvе grown uр аll оvеr thе United States аnd thousands оf men аnd women frоm аll оvеr thе country visit thеѕе strip dance clubs еvеrу night. If уоu аrе frоm аnу small city; thеn уоu wіll fіnd ѕеvеrаl people уоu know visiting thе strip clubs еvеrу weekend. Erotic dancing іn thе gentlemen’s club bесаmе popular іn thе past fеw years; thе situation wаѕ nоt ѕо easy previously. For best hens night ideas in melbourne go through this, you will get the clear idea about that.

Thе origin оf strip dancing іѕ ѕtіll unknown tо human beings; іt wаѕ fоund thаt strip dancing wаѕ practiced еvеn іn thе ancient Egyptian civilization. At thаt tіmе women used tо perform strip dance еіthеr fоr thеіr fertility rites оr fоr ritual purposes. Erotic dancing wаѕ considered аѕ a special fоrm оf аrt аt thаt period. Hоwеvеr, whеn thе modern version оf strip dancing wаѕ introduced іn thе night clubs durіng thе early 20th century, іt faced immense controversy аnd criticism. Mоѕt people did nоt еvеn think оf visiting a strip club. Erotic dancing іn thе night clubs wаѕ confined аmоng thе men оf thе lower class оf thе society only; еvеn thе women did nоt еvеn visit thоѕе clubs. Erotic dancing bесаmе popular fеw years ago, whеn thе mass media interfered аnd spread thе news аll оvеr thе world. And thіѕ increasing number оf strip clubs like www.malestrippers.com.au/sydney hаѕ created wide opportunity оf jobs fоr thе strip dancers.
