Over the weekend I was introduced to The Pink Line Project which is a website dedicated to art in the DC area. It’s a great resource for art lovers providing an up-to-date calendar of events and reviews of art in the area.

flying kites
Monday, March 29th, 2010My sister and I attended the kite festival on Saturday which was amazing. There were so many people young and old participating in the event. It pretty much made a sea of kites from the Capital to the Washinton Monument. And we saw some truly unique kites from flying pandas to pirate ships to huge dragons. For the record me and my sister are not professional kite flyers and only managed to have one really good flight—I blame the box kite and the wind. (These pictures were taken with my phone because I didn’t realize until I got to the Mall that my digital camera battery was dead. I did take some pictures with my Diana which I’ll post when I get developed.)
kite festival
Friday, March 26th, 2010This weekend in DC the Smithsonian is hosting its 44th Annual Kite Festival. I’ve never been before, but I think it’s going to be sort of magical seeing all the kites/colors in the air. Last night I purchased a kite of my own for the event. AND I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. Find out the details for the event here.

window watching
Monday, March 22nd, 2010I had to post these beautiful window displays from ginger in downtown Bethesda. What a fabulous way to display new spring clothes! My pictures really don’t do them justice.
like i give a frock
Friday, March 19th, 2010Just received my copy of Like I Give a Frock in the mail so that I can participate in Mrs. Lilien’s book club. I scanned through it quickly and it looks like it has some great illustrations. Yay for new inspiration! Can’t wait to spend more time with it over the weekend. AND if you haven’t checked out Mrs. Lilien’s blog it’s quite fabulous—one of my new favorites because of her exquisite fashion sensibility.
Have a great weekend!
