I much prefer 2010′s turquoise to 2011′s honeysuckle. I guess I’m just not a pink person…what do you guys think?

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010home sweet home
Wednesday, December 1st, 2010I just bought this Home Sweet Home print by Seb Lester on Keep Calm Gallery. Let’s just say it was an early Christmas present to myself. I had a hard time deciding between the Home Sweet Home print and the Stars print below, but I ended up deciding on the Home Sweet Home print because of its unique color changing paper, (see the video of its magic-ness here.) Keep Calm Gallery has a great selection of prints, tea towels and other great designed pieces that make great gifts. And definitely check out Seb Lester’s website—he’s a typography genius.
happ & stahns perfume packaging
Tuesday, November 30th, 2010I stumbled upon this perfume at the Anthropologie accessories store just the other day. It’s the cutest box and bottle…every single detail is just perfect. I especially love the pincushion top on the bottle. I was sooo close to buying it just for the packaging—I don’t even think I smelled it—but thankfully I came to my senses. Purchase it for yourself at Anthropologie here and here. It’d make a great gift for a perfume lover.
p.s. If you live in the DC area you must check out the Anthropologie accessories store in Chevy Chase—it’s to die for.

2011 letterpress calendar
Monday, November 15th, 2010I participated in the Pyramid Atlantic Letterpress calendar once again this year with other members of the Pyramid Atlantic letterpress community. Each month was designed by a different artist. I chose April because it is my birth month and decided to focus on its birthstone, the diamond. It is a 2 color design using silver and magenta ink. There are still some calendars available for purchase. It’s $25 this year, which is a steal if you ask me! They are working on having it for sale on the Pyramid website but until then Update: Available for order on the website or you can purchase it at ArtSpring 821 Wayne Avenue, Silver Spring MD). All proceeds go to Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.

Saturday, October 16th, 2010Dexter on Showtime is by far one of my favorite shows. I love that the show has the ability to make the audience relate to and feel compassionate for a serial killer. Ty Mattson created a great poster series inspired by the show—one poster for each season. (Season 4 was my favorite season and favorite poster!) Prints will be available soon on the Showtime website.

one year
Friday, October 1st, 2010The husband and wife design team from Eight Hour Day have decided to take a remarkable journey across the US for the next year. They will be starting their adventure in Seattle and then off to 10 different cities; about a month in each. (See their route above.) I can’t imagine how amazing and inspiring it will be for them to discover a new city every month.
More details here. Make sure to follow their blog to get their travel updates.
And, definitely check out their awesome portfolio too, if you aren’t already familiar with their stuff.
