My sister and I attended the kite festival on Saturday which was amazing. There were so many people young and old participating in the event. It pretty much made a sea of kites from the Capital to the Washinton Monument.  And we saw some truly unique kites from flying pandas to pirate ships to huge dragons. For the record me and my sister are not professional kite flyers and only managed to have one really good flight—I blame the box kite and the wind. (These pictures were taken with my phone because I didn’t realize until I got to the Mall that my digital camera battery was dead. I did take some pictures with my Diana which I’ll post when I get developed.)

This weekend in DC the Smithsonian is hosting its 44th Annual Kite Festival. I’ve never been before, but I think it’s going to be sort of magical seeing all the kites/colors in the air. Last night I purchased a kite of my own for the event. AND I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. Find out the details for the event here.
