Tuesday, April 6th, 2010tiny home office
Tuesday, April 6th, 2010This image above is proof that you can make the best out of the space that you have. Currently I am lucky enough to a whole room devoted to my crafts but it’s definitely not as beautiful as this little office. One of the my goals for the summer is to reorganize my craft room to make it chic and completely functional. Here is a great resource from ReadyMade to help you make the most out of your space.

vacation snapshots
Monday, April 5th, 2010While I am not a photographer by any means I love experimenting, especially with all the toy cameras out there; the Diana, the fish-eye and the holga. Here are some of my favorites pictures from my recent trips.

cocktails
Friday, April 2nd, 2010With a beautiful weekend upon us all I can think about is sunbathing, grilling and drinking cocktails like this pineapple and rum drink. Yum! More delicious drinks from Martha here. Cheers to a gorgeous weekend!
tad carpenter
Thursday, April 1st, 2010Tad Carpenter is an illustrator and designer based out of Kansas City, Missouri. His work might look a little familiar because he’s worked with well-known clients such as Target, Kid Robot, Chronicle Books and Chop Shop Records to name a few. I am in love with his whimsical and graphic point of view—it definitely puts a smile on my face.
Check out more of his work and his blog.

the pink line project
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010Over the weekend I was introduced to The Pink Line Project which is a website dedicated to art in the DC area. It’s a great resource for art lovers providing an up-to-date calendar of events and reviews of art in the area.

Monday, March 29th, 2010Sunday was the opening reception for Paper Cuts: The Art and Science of Rock Posters which features the work of 15 poster artists including Jay Ryan, John Foster, Marc Harkness, Zach Bryan, Strawberryluna, Todd Slater, Adam Saul, Criminal Design, Marq Spusta, Hatch Show Print, Dan Grzeca, Guy Burwell, Chris Cernoch, John Whitlock and Anthony Dihle. flying kites
Monday, March 29th, 2010My sister and I attended the kite festival on Saturday which was amazing. There were so many people young and old participating in the event. It pretty much made a sea of kites from the Capital to the Washinton Monument. And we saw some truly unique kites from flying pandas to pirate ships to huge dragons. For the record me and my sister are not professional kite flyers and only managed to have one really good flight—I blame the box kite and the wind. (These pictures were taken with my phone because I didn’t realize until I got to the Mall that my digital camera battery was dead. I did take some pictures with my Diana which I’ll post when I get developed.)
kite festival
Friday, March 26th, 2010This weekend in DC the Smithsonian is hosting its 44th Annual Kite Festival. I’ve never been before, but I think it’s going to be sort of magical seeing all the kites/colors in the air. Last night I purchased a kite of my own for the event. AND I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. Find out the details for the event here.
