Currently obsessed with this album thanks to my good friend alison. You can listen to the whole album here. My favorite song is Sara Smiles. Dare I say that I like these versions better than the original Hall & Oates songs.

window watching
Monday, March 22nd, 2010I had to post these beautiful window displays from ginger in downtown Bethesda. What a fabulous way to display new spring clothes! My pictures really don’t do them justice.
like i give a frock
Friday, March 19th, 2010Just received my copy of Like I Give a Frock in the mail so that I can participate in Mrs. Lilien’s book club. I scanned through it quickly and it looks like it has some great illustrations. Yay for new inspiration! Can’t wait to spend more time with it over the weekend. AND if you haven’t checked out Mrs. Lilien’s blog it’s quite fabulous—one of my new favorites because of her exquisite fashion sensibility.
Have a great weekend!
the doggie gaga project
Friday, March 19th, 2010Recently this project has been getting a lot of press and rightly so…who wouldn’t love dogs dressed as Lady Gaga. Photographer Jesse Freidin was recently commissioned by the Impossible Project to photograph dogs in Lady Gaga costumes using 2 packs of Polaroid film. The series is very original and completely adorable. See all the doggie gaga here.

dream house
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010Yes, I found my dream house in Key West…isn’t it lovely? AND when I finally win the lottery this is what I’ll be buying, (a girl can dream right?) The house is better known as the “Calvin Klein house” because Calvin owned it in the 80s. I really don’t know much more about the house other than its octagon shaped and has gorgeous turquoise shutters and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, oh and did I mention that I want it! More info about this beauty here and here.

key west art museum
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010Exploring the island on the very first day of the trip we came across the Key West Museum of Art & History. The museum features some portraits of Key West’s famous people as well as work by some of their most well-known artists—my favorite being folk artist Mario Sanchez. Most of his pieces are reliefs carved into wood panels and then brightly colored to accurately reflect street scenes, places and people from Key West during the early 20th century. Sanchez’ work has a certain charm and honesty about it; seeing the culture and beauty of Key West through his eyes. These pictures do not do his work justice. See more of his pieces here.

lemonade
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010Last night I watched Lemonade—a movie about 16 advertising professionals that were laid off from their jobs and as a result were able to find their true calling. It’s a incredibly inspiring movie that makes you question life/work/values—it sure made me analyze my life. Overall an uplifting movie proving that you can make the best of the worst of times. Definitely worth checking out.
